Samuel J. May served as minister of the Brooklyn Unitarians from 1822 to 1836, and put his values into practice as a stop on the Underground Railroad trek towards Canada. Dennis C. Landis, current historian of the Unitarian Society tells this story at the Old Brooklyn Meeting House across from Town Hall.
